About Us

History

We run The Family Dog Club in the New Forest. We are a Dog Training and Behaviour Company with over 100 dogs training with us weekly, both in classes and 1-2-1 training. We started out as a Dog Walking and Daycare Company back in 2010 and started on our training journey with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT). As well as studying with the IMDT, we also both completed a mentorship programme with Steve Mann and David Brice giving us lots of experience while learning from the best. As a Dog Trainer, you never stop learning, we attend many different conferences, to keep up to date with all the latest research and science.

We offer affordable Training and Behaviour Consultations as well as Puppy Classes, Training Classes, Gun Dog and Tracking.

Jeanette has successfully completed the double accredited Dynamic Dog Practitioner Programme and now has expertise in canine biomechanics, posture and gait analysis and has full understanding on how physical issues may exacerbate and even cause behavioural issues in dogs. Jeanette is also able to confidently identify problem areas whilst obtaining evidence away from a clinical environment to back up their findings, making them a beneficial addition to the multi-disciplinary team.

Dogs are so rewarding but having a new puppy or living with a dog that finds life difficult can also be stressful and exhausting. There is so much conflicting information on Google and Social Media, it can be difficult to know where to start or what to believe. This is where we come in. We adore dogs, but love working with people just as much, seeing how we can improve their lives, sharing our knowledge and experience, helping you to understand your dog and helping them to live happy and enriched lives.

Puppy Training Academy Online

As busy, working parents ourselves, we know how difficult it can be to find the time to commit to regular classes and so the Puppy Training Academy Online was founded to provide a solution. The Puppy Training Academy provides you with a 6 week online training course, with easy to follow video tutorials about everything from puppy's first night, how to teach foundation skills like recall and loose lead, as well as how to address common puppy problems like biting and jumping up.

All Puppy Training Academy Online members also get access to an exclusive members only Facebook group and the members area forum where you can ask us questions at any time.

We have attended more then 50 courses with well respected industry organisations and professionals including IMDT, School of Canine Science, Absolute Dogs, Chirag Patel, Craig Ogilvie, Dr Isla Fishburn and many others. We continually update our knowledge to bring you the most up-to-date and effective methods of training your dogs.
